Fourth of July Lobster Recipe

|

This past weekend, Young & Chic LLP hosted its Second Annual Brainstorming Session. This event was an opportunity for partners, associates, and office staff to discuss, develop, and implement strategies to help better serve our current and prospective clients.

The remainder of the day was full of food, fun, and friends (including many beloved dogs). We all gathered for a delicious dinner of grilled steak and lobster with roasted vegetables.

With the Fourth of July weekend fast approaching, we thought it would be appropriate to share this succulent lobster recipe as well as an easy citrus champagne cocktail. This recipe is easily adaptable to your taste, so don’t be afraid to mix it up. Enjoy!

Grilled Lobster

Ingredients (serves approximately 11 people)

  • 8 large Maine lobster tails (frozen (thawed) or fresh)
  • 2 tablespoons of minced garlic
  • Two lemons (one juiced, one sliced thin)
  • Splash of white wine
  • 4 sticks of butter
  • Aluminum foil

Instructions

  1. Begin making the basting sauce by melting the butter, garlic, lemon juice, and white wine together in a saucepan on low heat until the butter sauce is completely liquefied. Keep on low heat for basting.
  2. Using kitchen shears, carefully cut the lobster tail from its shell while keeping the shell intact.
  3. Place the lobster tail back in its shell and on top of foil.
  4. Liberally baste each lobster tail with the liquefied butter sauce and carefully wrap the lobster tails up in foil.
  5. Place two slices of lemon on top of each piece of lobster.
  6. Grill the lobster tails at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for a total of 8 minutes (4 minutes on each side, or until meat is no longer translucent).
  7. Remove the lobsters from the grill and serve with or without the shell.
  8. Serve alongside oven-roasted potatoes and vegetables.

Citrus Champagne Cocktail

Ingredients (makes 4 cocktails)

  • 1 ounce of Grand Marnier
  • 1 ounce of brandy
  • Crushed ice
  • Brut Champagne

Instructions

  1. Add the Grand Marnier and brandy into a shaker with crushed ice.
  2. Shake until cold.
  3. Pour into a champagne flute and fill the remainder of the glass with champagne.
  4. Garnish with a slice of orange rind.

Have a safe and wonderful Fourth of July!
